Imports and Exports Customer Officer North Essex Up to £50,000 DOEMonday -Friday 9-5pm/8-4pm Pure are delighted to be supporting an established North Essex based organization with the recruitment of an import and export customs officer. This role will play a key part in contributing to the continued development and compliance of all customs matters for the company. Key Responsibilities:
  • Audit all Import & Export entries & MSS data to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain current and accurate custom records including Duty & VAT information and data for HMRC audits.
  • Development of procedures and tools to ensure business compliance, by properly documenting and controlling all mandatory custom functions.
  • Maintaining our AEO status
  • Raise the awareness of the importance of customs compliance within the group of companies
  • Promoting good customs practices across the group
  • Analysis of business processes and identification of optimization potential.
  • Support of audits performed by the customs authorities and internal QA teams
  • Develop and maintain KPI’s
  • Assist in the day-to-day strategic direction of the customs department.
  • Assist and advise in all customs compliance matters
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Knowledge of the roles of Customs and demonstration of this knowledge in daily decision making
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills
  • Highly focused and accurate with an uncompromising eye for detail
  • Knowledge of the interaction between Customs and trade and how it influences supply chain operations
  • Well-motivated with the ability to show initiative.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • Adaptable, approachable and flexible
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills.
  • Experience in international shipping using FPO’s (import and export).
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft systems (Word, Excel, Outlook).
