The Structa team is growing, and we are looking for all levels of Civil Engineers & Technicians to join our Swindon Team. We have an ever-increasing client base and we are looking for people who enjoy problem solving but also working within a team that are friendly and collaborative. You will have the opportunity to work with senior leaders gaining valuable insight to all areas of engineering helping towards your own development, whether that is becoming EngTech, Chartered or striving towards becoming a future leader within Structa.

We work closely with our Structural engineering team based in our office in Hemel Hempstead, helping to ensure that we respond to our clients’ needs and deliver successful projects on-time and within budget. Importantly we also ensure we are always working towards delivering a sustainable built environment.

If this sounds like you and you are a hands-on engineer / technician seeking to develop their career and business knowledge and passionate about engineering, we would love to hear from you.

We offer fantastic project experience (end-to-end), career development as well as excellent benefits and salary.

We encourage professional and personal development and we are an approved employer for the ICE Training Scheme, encouraging all our people to strive towards the best they can be. We also offer regular CPD lunchtime sessions (with lunch included).

What experience are we looking for?

  • Post-qualification experience in Civil Engineering design with either a BSc, BEng, MEng or HNC
  • Knowledge or expertise (depending on your level) in infrastructure, highways, and drainage design to deliver multi-disciplinary projects from concept, feasibility and planning through to detailed design and construction
  • Knowledge in the use of relevant industry-standard design software packages, particularly Civil 3D
  • Experience of dealing with clients and other members of the professional team (dependent on experience)
  • An ability to communicate effectively, writing clear and concise emails, letters, and reports
  • A good commercial awareness and experience of managing day to day project finances and instructions (depending on your level)
  • An ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

What we can offer you?

We have excellent client relationships, and a great supportive working environment where you can undertake varied and rewarding tasks to increase your knowledge and skills base. There is lots of 'on-the-job’ training, CPD sessions and more structured training.

We work closely with our two nominated charities for the homeless and encourage volunteering. Structa also contributes towards regular social events.

We offer a competitive salary, a contribution towards a personal pension scheme (5% of salary) and professional membership fees. A sample of our benefits are listed below:

  • Initial 25 days holiday (3 held for the Seasonal winter period - December)
  • Long service holiday can be accrued in accordance with the number of years services, up to a total of 30 days and cash reward
  • An option to buy / sell holiday each year
  • Westfield healthcare (cash-back plan)
  • Death in Service benefit (4 x salary)
  • Flexible working including core office hours
  • Paid professional membership
  • Study leave
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Yearly flu vaccine
  • Regular CPD seminars held in house (with lunch provided)
  • Regular social events organised and funded by the company throughout the year

Our Purpose shapes our everyday experience at Structa and embodies the expectations we have of the contribution we all make to this unique company.
