Our client is looking for a 2nd line support engineer to join their help desk team.

They are a managed service provider offering IT support, solutions, and services to their client base throughout the Northwest and the rest of the UK. The ideal candidate would already have experience working either in an MSP or internal IT support function, with good working knowledge of ticket troubleshooting as well as some more involved project work.


To work within the current support desk team and handle inbound customer requests via their ticketing system. To liaise with the 1st line service desk to handle 2nd line requests when raised as well as manage some project work such as data migrations or hardware installations.

Skills Required

At least 12 months of experience working in a support desk environment.

Good communication skills both in person and over the phone.

Prior knowledge and proven use of:

  • Powershell (Exchange Online, Azure AD, common cmdlets).
  • MS 365 Admin Centre and Azure AD.
  • Server 2016, 2019 Administration (Hyper-V, Active Directory, Group Policy, Patch Management).
  • Good Networking and common Protocol knowledge (SSH, FTP,DHCP, DNS, NAT, WAN, and LAN configurations).
  • SIP/VoIP Telephony, configuring, and troubleshooting.
  • Hardware support (RAID, Network patch cabinet maintenance, network switch configuration).
