Support staff required for an inclusive Secondary Academy based in Hemel Hempstead - supporting pupils in KS3 and 4, who display challenging behaviour. Are you adept at dealing with pupils who display challenging behaviour? Are you able to reach the pupils that many cant? Do you have the patience needed for a diverse and hugely rewarding post. Tradewind are working closely with a school in Hemel Hempstead currently going through a period of change with a clear and focused improvement plan.
You could be an experienced TA looking for a new challenge, or have come from a Mental health or coaching background. Graduates looking to start a career in teaching are encouraged to apply and will benefit from the support and interaction of a huge network of professionals. Enthusiasm, an engaging attitude and upbeat persona are required to support these responsive and individual pupils.
The role will include 1:1 support, leading groups, running cover and supporting some pupils in class. Pupils will generally be in year 7 and have moderate SEN requirements including SEMH. Behaviour isn't bad, but can present as disruptive usually born from frustration and the inability to express their emotions and frustrations.
This is a modern school with New SLT, and an amazing SENCO. Having recently started a new improvement plan and currently undertaking a multi-million pound redevelopment this is a great time to join this inclusive, supportive school.
