About This Opportunity-
The primary of this role is to engage as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow within the Dow Centre for Sustainable Engineering Innovation to support Prof Xiwang Zhang, Dow Chair & Director, with work on the research projects of Dow Centre; in particular, the design and manufacture of novel PEM electrolysers for concurrent production of hydrogen and other valuable co-products O3 and H2O2 via electrolysis using treated wastewater as the feed.r>
This project involves a series of interlinked tasks.hese tasks include developing experimental procedures and research plans associated with catalyst synthesis, PEM membrane fabrication, electrode and reactor design.his role will be involved in all facets of the project and take a pivotal role in undertaking experimental work both in the laboratory and in the field, assembling and managing datasets, coordinating work with collaborators and assisting with data analysis and writing.r>

The conduct of research under limited supervision either as a member of a team or, where appropriate, independently and the production or contribution to conference and seminar papers and publications from that research.r>
Involvement in professional activities including, subject to availability of funds, attendance at conferences and seminars in the field of expertise.r>
Limited administrative functions primarily connected with the area of research of the academic.r>
Development of a limited amount of research-related material for teaching or other purposes.r>
Occasional contributions to teaching in relation to their research projects.r>
Experimental design and operation of advanced laboratory and technical equipment or conduct of advanced research procedures.r>
Attendance at meetings associated with research or the work of the organisational unit to which the research is connected and/or at departmental, school and/or faculty meetings and/or membership of a limited number of committees.r>
Advice within the field of the staff member's research to postgraduate students.r>
Develop a coherent research program and an emerging research profile.r>
Review and draw upon best research methodologies.r>
2.upervision and Researcher Development
Contribute to the effective supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students as appropriate.r>
Demonstrate personal effectiveness in supervision and the management of researcher development.r>
3.itizenship and Service
Perform a range of administrative functions in the Dow Centre & School of Chemical Engineering.r>
Contribute to the processes that enable the academic team to manage the work of the Centre & the School, including participate in Centre & School decision-making and serve on School committees.r>
Foster the Centre's & the School's relations with industry, government departments, professional bodies and the wider community.r>
Any other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisors.r>

About You
A doctoral qualification or significant progress towards a doctorate in chemical engineering, materials engineering or a closely related field.r>
Rich experience in electrochemistry, electrocatalysts, PEM membrane and electrolyser.r>
Demonstrated analytical and manuscript preparation skills, including a track record of refereed research publications in high impact journals.r>
Ability to solve complex problems using discretion, innovation and the exercise of diagnostic skills and/or expertise.r>
Well-developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks, and to set and meet deadlines.r>
Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills with proven ability to produce clear, succinct reports and documents.r>
Demonstrated awareness of the principles of confidentiality, privacy and information handling.r>
Demonstrated capacity to work in a collegiate manner with other staff in the workplace.r>
What We Can Offer-
This is a fixed-term position for 2 years with the possibility of extension at Academic Level A.br>
The equivalent base salary will be in the range $72,. to $96,530.-plus super of up to 17%.he total FTE package will be in the range $84,408. to $,940. per annum.pan class="preg">-
