Purpose: The purpose of the Trial Capabilities Manager - Clinical Trial Payment role is to lead the clinical trial capabilities in managing clinical trial payments and any other financial transactions related to investigator sites readiness, maintenance and close out. The manager provides leadership, direction and technical support related to clinical trial payment to Trial Capabilities focusing on results and driving efficiency to achieve goals and objectives Additional country specific responsibilities such as the management of budget and agreement in relation to clinical trial payment may be required as needed/appropriate for the local geography and/or to cover regional differences.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Trial Payment Responsibilities
Effective oversight on managing investigator payments and any other financial transactions related to Trial Capabilities which include, but not limited to, vendor creation and management, purchase order creation and maintenance, payment activities, country/site budget tracking, and payment-related issue resolution.
Effective oversight on managing clinical trial budgets and agreements, which include, but not limited to, create/manage site budget and negotiate with site personnel and internal teams, review country budget parameters and provide consultation and support issues resolution on budget and agreement in relation to payment set up
Ensure flexibility of resources across Trial Capabilities Payment teams
Develop and manage strategies to improve customer experience
Lead the local payment team in the evaluation and suitability of new payment systems
Understand, comply, and reinforce local regulations and guidance, Lilly Medical policies and procedures, and good clinical practices (GCP)
2. Organizational Leadership

Identify and ensure shared learning across the Trial Capabilities Payment team and with other functional groups
Enable a culture of continuous improvement to drive efficiency through process improvement, people skills, and shared learning
Manage staff compliance to local regulations/guidance, Lilly Medical policies/procedures, and good clinical practices (GCP)
3. People Management and Development
Recruit, develop, and retain an operationally capable workforce skilled and knowledgeable in clinical trial payment
Effectively manage an agile organization that continuously meets the needs of a changing portfolio
Develop an organizational culture that fosters inclusion and innovation and demonstrates judgment-based decision making
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferably in a scientific or health related field or finance
Five (5) years clinical research experience or relevant experience in P2P (Purchase to Pay) function preferred
Other Information/Additional Preferences:
Understanding of the overall clinical development paradigm
Previous supervisory experience. Strong leadership skills and ability to influence others and lead across the business
Project and time management processes and skills
Appreciation of/experience in compliance-driven environment
Ability to learn and comply with financial and legal guidelines and policies (budget and contract)
Effective communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Language Capabilities – English (read, write, conversation) and local language, as applicable.
