We now have an opportunity for a passionate and driven National Environmental Manager to join our Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) team.
This role is based in Christchurch and will require regular travel to project sites throughout NZ and the Pacific Islands.
About the role
This is an integral role that provides operational support to projects across New Zealand and Pacific Region.
Duties and Responsibilities will include. 
Provide advice and assistance to Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project HSE personnel for the development, implementation review, and revision of the Health, Safety, and Environmental Management sections of the Project Execution Manual
Report on Sustainability Environmental management matters including preparation of HSE statistics and monthly summary reports
Provide overall information on any trending Environmental and Sustainability issues in the Business Unit, potentially where there may be issues or where the projects are completing high standards for recognition.
Support Tenders and provide Environmental and Sustainability management plans and advice on the strategy of environmental and sustainability in the Business Unit.
Work to achieve the project HSE targets and build strong sustainability and environmental culture
Conduct internal audits on Risk Compliance, Project Management Plans, overall Construction Execution Plans (CEPs), and Project Systems.
Investigate any large-scale or regular environmental issues and report back to Management. With corrective measure plans formulated with onsite teams.
Review of completed audits and environmental requirements of the audits, feedback, and record-keeping required for all system audits.
Helps to ensure all Environmental actions are closed out quickly; ensure all lessons learned are communicated to all relevant staff
CMO support in setting up of projects and ensuring these are being used as per the wider business
About you:
Operational experience in the application of environmental management principles in the construction industry.
Tertiary qualification in a relevant environmental field and suitable relevant experience (4 years minimum preferred).
Communicate clearly and concisely.
Self-starting and resourceful, with the ability to take the lead in devising solutions.
Highly organized, with a strong ability to plan, prioritise and coordinate workloads.
Highly adaptable and flexible and able to reliably respond to rapidly changing circumstances.
Competent user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with working knowledge of wider applications.
Knowledge of New Zealand environmental legislation and consenting procedures, policies, and standards relevant to environmental management.
Be capable of developing and managing systems that will ensure compliance with legislative requirements
