Purpose: This job description covers the minimum requirements of an incumbent in a given position within the company.This job description does not preclude the company from making reasonable requests to an employee to carry out work not covered by this job description.To ensure that all employees understand the minimum requirements of their given job.Duties and Responsibilities:To adhere to all your applicable Work Instructions, once training is completeEmployees are required to identify and report any potential risks within their area of responsibility to their immediate superiorIf and when required, the employee will make him/herself available to work overtime as requested by his superior within an acceptable planned intervalIt is the responsibility of every employee to ensure that they are familiar and adhere to all statutory & regulatory requirements.It is the responsibility of every person within company to understand, apply and adhere to the business management system requirement as laid down in the applicable Policies, Procedures, Work Instructions, Norms and Standards;To ensure that all machines in the production line are set up correctly in the beginning of a shift in order to produce the required conforming parts as per drawings and production plans set up by the Production Manager and Operations Director. The Production Assistant will receive training to setup equipment that they are not familiar with.To assist the Production Manager by monitoring and managing the efficiency and quality of the output of the production line while being present on the factory floor.To assist the Production Manager by actively guiding smaller batches of product through the production line in order to meet customer demand.To ensure that the required quality and production controls are performed on all parts in all processes so the parts fulfil all required drawing specifications, quality and/or customer requirements.To inspect and assure the quality standard of the parts are maintained in accordance with customer and company determined standards.Identify, investigate, record, control of non-conforming parts and report to the Production Manager.To ensure that First-off, in-process, last off inspection of parts per batch and shift is being performed in accordance with defined specificationsTo ensure effective implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework. Employees are required to identify and report any potential risks within their area of responsibility to the appointed Risk Champion;Actively assist in managing production on the factory floor.Setting up of CNC Lathe and Milling Machine for Operators.Operating CNC Lathe and Milling Machine.Operating Manual Lathe.Responsible to ensure that production change overs are done as required on the production schedules or on instruction by the Production Manager.Actively participate in the company’s continual improvement processes (CIP).Candidate Requirements Education & TrainingMatriculation (Grade 12) with Mathematics/ N3 certificate or equivalent qualification.Setting of CNC lathes and Milling Machine (FANUC control)Operating of Manual Lathe4 to 5 Years working experience in a production/manufacturing environmentUnderstanding and Interpreting of engineering drawings and inspection; measuring and test equipment.
