Recruitment Description

/ Key Accountabilities
Ensure equipment availability to meet the production plan and stable gas supply.

Responsible for maintenance mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment and systems in the wax plant.

Responsible for effective maintenance of all gas pipeline equipment i.e., underground pipelines, Customer Metering Stations (CMS), Pressure Regulating Stations (PRS) and Cathodic Protection (CP) systems.

Responsible for pipelines operations i.e., pipeline and station inspections and attending to gas supply upsets and interruptions.

Establish and report on agreed performance criteria.

Enures that self and team meet targets, due dates, and quality standards are met.

Ensure financial discipline and governance in the department. Continuously optimize maintenance activities.

Compile annual maintenance budget.

Compile annual long-term maintenance budget.

Control cost to ensure the maintenance budget is achieved within budget.

Manage operations risks by making sure that all hazards are identified, analysed and mitigated to acceptable levels.

Manage, revise and improvement of Asset Management standards for maintenance.

Manage asset life cycle and plans. Input into 5 year rolling capital plan.

Maintain assets within agreed operations envelope conditions and set standards.

Identification of technical problems / opportunities.

Benchamarking for optimal solutions adn practices.

Participating in plant design for maintainability and operatibility and accepting equipment after installation.

Management of standards and procedures.

Translate and cascade operational goals and long-term plans through effective two-way communication in the organisation.

Demonstrate One Sasol behaviour - ensure area under control is managed to the benefit to the larger Sasol value chain.

Manage mult-level interfaces and integrate effectively.

Interact with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

Manage operations knowledge by transforming, packaging, transferring and maintaining operations knowledge.

Formal Education

University Bachelor's Degree - BSc / BEng / BTech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (must)

Government Certificate of Competence (GCC) - (strong wish)

MBA / MBL (wish)

Min Experience 

8+ relevant years
