The Project

The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $2.6bn M6 Stage 1 project. The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney’s south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.

With work underway, the M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.

The Opportunity

The project is seeking applications from a passionate and professional Procurement Officer to join the Mechanical & Electrical team. This role will be responsible for proactively facilitating, implementing and supporting the process of procurement in accordance with project plans and procedures over the project lifecycle.

The responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to;

  • Active involvement in the tender process
  • Coordinating key suppliers / subcontractors across the business
  • Ensuring the correct procurement procedure is maintained across the business
  • Establishing a strategy to maximise buying gain, ensuring a successful project outcome
  • Process purchase orders
  • Reporting to the Logistics and Warehouse Manager and liaising with other critical stakeholders within the business
  • About You

    The successful candidate will have:

  • Diploma in Commercial and/or Contract Law or relevant experience
  • Prior construction project procurement experience including market enquiries, tender process management, financial and contract negotiations and Government funded project probity
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Software and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne - highly regarded
  • The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
