JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for managing critical phases of construction for large multi-faceted themed projects and ensuring completion as assigned by leadership. Works closely with Project Managers and the Facility Design Managers to ensure timely construction development, coordinates interactions with the general contractors and serves as a liaison between the general contractors and project team. Responsible for expediting the review and the response for Requests for Information (RFI), Shop Drawings and Submittals and the maintenance of as-built information. Aids Superintendents and Field Engineers with contractor supervision. Coordinates with Architects and Engineers on all mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) inputs for the facility designs. Monitors the quality of construction and supports document control for all QA/QC documentation.


* Construction Phase: Attends or oversees daily, weekly, and monthly area meetings of contractors and vendors and documents the results in daily/weekly/monthly meeting minutes. Evaluates contractor and vendor change order requests and acts as an interpreter for creative elements between project team and the general contractors. Performs all required construction management processes including but not limited to: RFI's, Shop Drawings, Directives, Submittals, Punch Lists, Short Form Agreements, and other documents as required. Supports UO project team for progress payment and related walk-through and inspections. Updates project manager and schedule weekly regarding the progress of the site and facilities including photo-video hard copies and electronic image transfer back. Establishes site-visiting procedures with general contractors and project team for vendor visits. Monitors all third-party construction development and report results. Manages and coordinates staging area inventories for arrival and dispatch.
* Bid/Award Phase: Develops and prepares the Request for Proposals. Prepares documentation required for site access, lay down and other logistics for the contractors and vendors. Assists with the responses to contractor and vendor questions for the RFP. Prepares the final evaluation and recommendations for the bids and proposals.
* Closeout Phase: Manages overall punch list activities. Reviews submittals from the contractor for all close-out documentation including, but not limited to shop drawings, submittals, as-built drawings, warranties, lien waivers, etc. Assists in reviewing final submittals for accuracy and completeness. Assists in the preparation of an overall project postmortem.
* Pre-Construction Phase: Becomes familiar with the Creative concept package and monitors the development of the construction documents with the Project Architect(s). Facilitates the pre-qualification and evaluation of potential construction vendors. Works with the general contractors and vendors for site/construction sequence and logistics with general contractors, vendors, internal departments and the project team with regards to access, insurance, etc. required to gain access to the site. Works with the general contractors in setting up mock-ups and samples area. Develops site lay down and access plan for the projects.
* Design Phase: Facilitates the review of all of the various design phase submittals from the architects and show vendors. Reviews design documents for construction, completeness, corrections, and coordination and compiles a list of comments. Reviews the existing facility status to evaluate what potential issues used to be addressed by the design documents. Attends design progress review meetings. Contributes to recommendation for Value Engineering alternatives if required.
* Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The project Engineer will also be responsible for meeting minutes and assisting with scheduling.


* Strong and effective communicator, both verbally and written, who can interface cooperatively with various departments of the company, as well as vendors and contractors.
* Possess good organizational, analytical, and problem-solving ability
* Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
* Knowledge of project management software

EDUCATION: Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Engineering and/or Construction Management, or a related field is required. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, and/or Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 5+ years' relevant construction/project management experience. Previous experience with turnkey projects, specifically within the theme park/entertainment industry is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
