Position Highlights: The Painter III performs demand and scheduled preventive maintenance of the facility equipment to primarily include painting and associated systems in accordance with departmental, hospital and regulatory agency codes. Specific duties include maintaining facilities and equipment in hospital or clinic environment.# Responsibilities: Performs general maintenance repairs and other duties as assigned as### referenced in Unit Specific Competency Check List and performs any work assignment in conjunction with the skill sets required of the job, not necessarily within craft line. Responds to emergency situations including disaster response, power I other utilities loss, floods, etc. to limit effect to facility Demonstrates proficiency in the ability to perform basic power and hand tool skills. Demonstrates knowledge and use of power tools utilized in construction trades; uses power tools safely and properly maintains power tools. Responsible for safe and proper operation as noted in Unit Specific Competency Check Performs basic infection prevention procedures Identifies changes that are needed on all prints and notifies supervisor when changes are made to existing spaces and new projects Assists with, oversees and/or inspects repairs or modifications performed by contractors Manages individual inventory following departmental inventory management and control parameters Demonstrates safe work practices, compliance with OSHA requirements, effective communication, and customer service skills Demonstrates management skills such as planning, coordination, estimating, and scheduling skills Demonstrates troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Demonstrates the ability to use maintenance equipment including hand-held power tools computers for building automation and computerized maintenance management systems, and to resource with others effectively Ensures that all work is performed using the proper PPE to ensure a safe environment Provides complete documentation as required by management and for authorities having jurisdiction specifically including but not limited to work order documentation Demonstrates knowledge of usage of maintenance equipment and diagnostics to facilitate trouble-shooting and repair processes Demonstrates ability to perform as required: demonstrate knowledge of fire alarm response, demonstrate knowledge of Incident response, demonstrate knowledge of Response to Utility losses, demonstrate the ability to respond to an emergency, demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with leadership Meets level I technical and knowledge depth for any trade Demonstrates ability to work from blueprint and estimate projects and create a bill of materials Demonstrates knowledge, skills and experience including carpentry, construction and millwork to be considered a master carpenter or equivalent Maintains accurate, clear and concise documentation for equipment problems and failures including but not limited to work order completion in work order program Reports failed equipment, major failures and equipment malfunctions, need for shutdowns and other concerns to department supervisor immediately upon discovery. Demonstrates ability to perform Painting skill sets Performs preventative maintenance and repairs for painting and associated systems and equipment to ensure a safe environment and operational reliability according to standards established by management team. Ensures that preventive maintenance (PM) tasks are properly completed in a timely manner, documented and materials and time spent are also documented appropriately. Demonstrates technical knowledge depth for painting and associated systems according to standards established by management team. Can identify different types of painting specific tools and materials and how to use them, basic math skills Performs repairs to failed equipment according to established standards and within acceptable time frames Provides notification of equipment shutdowns to appropriate leadership and departmental personnel Develops technical training parameters. Trains and develops craftsmen working in the painting trade Performs troubleshooting and problem-solving maintenance duties for painting and associated systems and equipment according to standards established by management team. Demonstrates knowledge and skills equivalent to those required of a master painter and wall finisher Performs other duties as assigned Provides work quality that meets customer needs, all applicable code requirements and consistently creates a safe environment. Participates in quality initiatives to improve service and outcomes for the facility. Works with management and peers to continually identify areas for improvement. Ensures that re-work due to negligence is consistently less than 4%. Ensures that all work performed is documented per departmental guidelines Ensures that work is prioritized and resolved in a timely manner based on the priority level of the work order Makes recommendations to create or change PM tasks as appropriate Demonstrates a good rapport and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers. Completes activities effectively and minimizes impact to the customer. Responds to communication (email, phone, work orders, verbal, written) promptly and demonstrated effective and thorough communication skills Improves job knowledge and skills through participating in training programs and attaining professional certifications. Participates in all hospital and departmental training as required by leadership. Meets training objectives developed with the supervisor. Consistently demonstrates the following characteristics and skills: self-starter, self-motivated, accepts responsibility for decisions, willing to try something new, stays calm in the face of a crisis, willingly shares knowledge Complies with Moffitt Cancer Center#s policies and procedures Adheres to local and hospital fire codes. Demonstrates knowledge of fire control safety practices Minimum Qualifications A minimum of eight (8) years commercial painting and building service systems experience is required A minimum of two (2) years healthcare experience is required Ability to work shifts and/or weekends as needed Ability to travel between other Moffitt Cancer Center facilities Valid driver#s license is required, must obtain Florida license within 6 months of employment
