The Role

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated engineer for a Virtual Commissioning Software Engineer position that focuses on developing code as well as testing and simulation for digital manufacturing equipment and its sub-assemblies. This position concentrates specifically on industrial Virtual Commissioning, Digital Twin integration, Industrial PC/PLC software simulation/emulation, code development using Structured Text/object-oriented programming and automatic testing. The digital equipment simulations include driven robotic cells, servo actuated mechatronic systems and high-volume automated process equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to build a world class digital manufacturing facility at the Fremont factory in California.

Responsibilities

Virtual commissioning Engineers work with cross-functional teams to design, validate, and final roll-out of controls code to achieve full production line simulation. Candidate will be key in driving standardization across all manufacturing lines and processes as well as other manufacturing product lines at Tesla factories.

Candidate will work closely with external equipment integrators and internally with Product Design Engineer, Design Technology team, Mechanical Engineer, Control engineer, Robotic Engineer, Maintenance and Core Automation Services to bring Tesla components from initial design, through prototype development and finally into full simulation. You will be engaged in a digitalization journey that will revolutionize our way of thinking about simulation at Tesla. You will collaborate with wide network of colleagues to put virtual commissioning on the map.
