STV currently has an opening in Washington, DC, Fairfax, VA, or Richmond, VA for a Rail/Transit Construction Manager in our Transportation and Infrastructure division to manage various transit, freight rail, and transportation facility construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for on-site management of various construction projects in Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia, supervision of field staff, and assisting with growth of the CM/CEI practice to better service our clients in the Washington, DC Metro Area.

Responsibilities:

* Serve as the primary contact between contractors, project owners, engineers of record, and other stakeholders
* Manage contractors on behalf of the project owner; monitor for contract compliance
* Supervise project field staff - STV employees and subconsultants
* Provide quality oversight of project staff on project activities and deliverables
* Manage submittal review and RFI response processes
* Lead project progress meetings with contractor, owner, and stakeholders
* Review potential change orders from contractors, prepare independent cost estimates, make recommendation to project owners, and prepare all associated documentation
* Resolve field construction issues with the contractor and project owner

Required Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field
* 15 years of rail/transit construction experience, including 5 years of on-site management of rail/transit construction projects
* Ability and willingness to work both in the field (75%) and office (25%)

Preferred Experience and Skills:

* PE License in Virginia and the District of Columbia
* Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification, or ability to obtain
* Previous experience working with VRE, WMATA, CSXT, or Norfolk Southern as direct employee, consultant, or contractor
