A career that cares for you

The Inpatient Neuro Unit at Community East is a 22-bed unit that cares for a variety of patients including neurosurgery, traumatic brain injuries, seizures, strokes, and video EEG monitoring. In addition to caring for neuro patients, you will also gain experience working with complex medical and surgical patients. You will gain a broad range of nursing skills on this unit, including becoming NIHSS certified.

The Inpatient Neuro Unit is a highly supportive environment. New nurse hires will collaborate with a unit-based educator to develop an onboarding and orientation plan which is customized to their learning needs. We want all our caregivers to feel supported as they grow in their nursing career. With a nursing leader that is approachable and enjoys coaching new hires, you will have ample opportunity to develop your skills. If you are a life-long learner, you will thrive in the neuro setting!
