As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Staff Nurse is responsible for assuring competent, compassionate, patient focused care. She/he/they collaborates with all members of the care team to ensure that patient care is coordinated, comprehensive and cohesive. The individual reports to the Clinical Directors and the Administrative Manager.

The Staff Nurse will primarily support the following clinical practices in the Division: Endocrine Associates, Lipid and Metabolism Associates, Reproductive Endocrine Associates and Thyroid Associates [including the Hypertension Program]. General responsibilities will include providing direct clinical care to patients in all clinics as needed, administrative responsibilities, and other tasks as described below and required of all ambulatory staff nurses.


Understands, supports, and implements the Nursing process and provides competent and compassionate nursing care. As a member of the multidisciplinary team of the Wang 7 Clinical Practices, the individual will:

* See patients in clinic and deliver injections and diagnostic testing for denosumab, romosozumab, sandostatin, testosterone, both IV and IM cortisol stimulation tests, glucose tolerance tests, saline suppression tests, etc.
* Coordinate care for all patients receiving infusions or injections. This includes following the patients' labs, communicating with other care teams, and following up with patients regularly.
* Providing routine immunizations to staff and/or patients
* Assists in refilling and updating patient medications.
* Assist with counseling patients and following up regarding lab results, imaging studies, diagnostic testing, etc.
* Triage patient calls and provide consultation
* Triage Patient Gateway email messages in Epic
* Triage incoming Epic referrals for acuity and appropriateness, designated clinical priority and appropriate clinical practice.
* Communicate with the members of the clinical and non-clinical staff regarding patient issues and matters affecting the clinic and provides continuity in the flow of information beyond scheduled shifts.
* Serve as a clinical resource to medical assistants and administrative staff, helping them resolve clinical needs
* Maintain reports obtaining patient medical history and monitoring changes in their history
* Identifies problems and possible discrepancies, and if necessary, completes or delegates any needed follow-up work.
* Participates in all operational activities of the Wang 7 Clinical Practices.
* Provides and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and family.
* Outpatient assessments with supervision
* Participates in, and contributes to, performance improvement activities as requested by clinical directors and manager
* As a collaborative member of the Division, if another practice is short-staffed, the staff nurse is expected to cover if appropriate and available. Coverage will also be provided for the incumbent of this role in parity.
* Work within regulatory and quality and safety requirements.


* Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
* Must have a current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse.
* Experience 2-3 years in outpatient nursing

Ambulatory Care setting


Not directly involved with fiscal or budgetary matters, however the individual is responsible for using departmental resources efficiently, maintaining equipment used in delivery of nursing care to patients, and monitoring/maintaining appropriate supplies.

* Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
* Must have a current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse.
* Experience 2-3 years in outpatient nursing
