Head - Internal Audit and Risk

As a risk & audit leader primarily for all operating companies and shared service organisations (OpCos) in India, you will be part of the global business risk & audit function (br&af). You are responsible for making business opportunities and risks insightful as well as making an impact and support control improvements for management of the OpCos . As part of br&af global community, you may be participating in projects outside of India to share knowledge and expertise, as well as to expand your horizon on OpCos outside India.

Responsibilities for you as risk & audit leader for India are:

semi annual planning and reporting on the risk and control situation for the country to the Executive Board,
facilitating the risk and control management self assessments in your country,
planning, executing and reporting on audits and follow-up on gap remediation,
conducting special reviews or investigation as needed, and
independent and objective reporting on the risk and control situation for the country to the global br&af organisation.

your typical day includes:
close cooperation with - and is sparring partner for - business leaders in the OpCos within the country regarding governance, risk management, internal controls, audits and fraud assessments and investigations;
guide and coach local br&af team members in their projects and their professional development;
provide recommendations about the quality of existing governance, policies, procedures, systems and internal controls in relation to business processes and business opportunities and risks;
conduct and facilitate risk assessments and challenge that assessment, identify and test controls in place to mitigate identified risks and provide advice for further improvement;
initiate local business risk & audit activities such as projects and audits, you plan, execute and report on these projects and monitor local follow-up of findings and recommendations;
drive and initiates governance, risk, control and audit projects to improve Randstad’s management control locally and regionally (as needed);
execute and report on special assignments, fraud assessments and investigations;
coordination of the risk and control reporting cycle in line with the global risk and control reporting cycle for the country within the portfolio;
contact person for the external auditors, including sharing of br&af scoping and planning with the external auditors for the country and monitoring follow-up of external audit findings and recommendations.
share control and risk results with overseas OpCo using India’s shared service organisations
participate in br&af regional and global projects as needed
Maintain relationships with:
Internal stakeholders: business leaders, country General Managers, CFOs. Group and local functional departments like: Tax, Legal, IT and Accounting Control and Local br&af t team members
External: external audit firms and networks and professional bodies around governance, risk, control, audit and forensics.

As a risk & audit leader for India you ensure open communications towards the OpCos in your country, the global br&af organisation and the external auditors. Your reporting will primarily be a thick line to the br&af APAC lead as well as a dotted line to the country CFO.

your background:
academic degree in Economics / Business Administration/ Accountancy or IT equivalent, combined with a CISA/CISSP and / or CPA, CIA background. Given the company’s digital transformation, experience / knowhow of IT is relevant for the position;
ambition and ability to function at world class level in international environment including frequent travel (approximately 30%)
in-depth audit, governance, risk management and control knowledge and experience
12 + years experience in audit and/or risk management position with a big international audit firm or a similar role in a large corporates;
past experience with IT and/or Financial audit supplemented with broader operational - and/or compliance audit experience and/or fraud investigations and/or consulting projects;
previous experience with and comfort in working in an international - multicultural environments, also outside of the finance area;
managing (IT) change in large global companies with a local approaches;
Competent and comfortable to communicate effectively in an international company where the English is the corporate language;
ability to make an impact with audiences (internal and external) on all levels in the organisation;
