We are recruiting a Sales Engineer for an opportunity at Stellenbosch or Pretoria.
To design, produce and present management reports on the progress with marketing targets and sales initiatives undertaken.
Business Development Strategy: to continually update and oversee the implementation thereof.
Skills and Experience
Senior Certificate – Grade 12
BTech or BEng or BSc Eng. degree, preferably in Electrical or Civil Engineering.
With Civil Engineering, a specialization in water and sanitation infrastructure and technologies.
Degree in Engineering (Civil or Electrical)
More than 12 years’ work experience
Experience in electrical or water hydraulic modelling
Experience in digital marketing
Experience in production of marketing material, demonstrating creativity
Business Development Strategy: to continually update and oversee the implementation thereof
National public sector client relations: to identify, develop and maintain marketing relations with DBSA, DWS, DMRE, MISA and more by ensuring the relevant individuals at these institutions understand GLS’s service offerings
International and national private sector client relations: to identify, develop and maintain marketing relations by marketing the services of GLS and developing relations to a point of signing working agreements
Internal sales capacity development: to support and motivate internal GLS team leaders to proactively market with priority institutions in their allocated provinces
To understand the Nextec software information system related to sales and marketing, when in existence
To understand and maintain the tendering, quoting, sales and marketing information systems used internally by GLS e.g., Zoho, tender tracking spreadsheet, weekly sales meeting minutes
To design, produce and present management reports on the progress with marketing targets and sales initiatives undertaken
Marketing Brochures and Material: To identify the need for, oversee the design and production of PowerPoint presentations, brochures, banners and related material of GLS service offerings
Conferences: To identify and manage GLS presence at international and national conferences
Print Media: To identify and manage GLS presence in traditional print media
Digital Media: To identify and manage GLS presence in electronic media, including managing the GLS website
Customer Service Experience: To manage the GLS reception email account, fielding work requests to the relevant internal staff
Customer Service Experience: To contact clients after project completion to determine customer experience and satisfaction
Staff: to manage the marketing coordinator
Tendering: Oversee and manage the bid and tender processes which include proposal writing and costing/cashflows
Tendering: To understand and navigate all statutory paperwork and bid requirements
Financial forecasts: To import cashflow from submitted bids into TT to provide expected cashflows over a forward 12-month period.
Staff: to manage the senior bid administrator
