ZincSearch is the company behind the open-source ZincSearch engine. ZincSearch provides a modern alternative to elasticsearch, splunk, datadog etc, by targeting log search space and reducing operations and technology costs by 10-30x for existing solutions. About the role
  • Our tech stack consists of Rust, Golang, VueJS, Kubernetes and AWS.
  • We are rebuilding the engine from scratch using Rust.
  • Writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code
  • Develop and support software including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure the project meets business objectives and compliance standards
  • Support test and deployment of new products and features
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Work with users and the community of ZincSearch.

What You Will Have
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Expertise in Database Design and building distributed systems.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies
  • Ability to multitask, organise, and prioritise work
  • Strong knowledge of Rust programming language, paradigms, constructs, and idioms
  • Experience building rust applications
  • Strong understanding of how to build distributed systems. Raft, memberships, ...
  • Knowledge of distributed KV stores like etcd.
  • Experience building REST APIs in rust.
  • Knowledge of common multithreading and async/await
  • Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field)

Bonus points
  • Experience contributing to open source projects.
  • Knowledge of docker, containers and Kubernetes
  • Experience in working in the cloud (AWS, GCP)

What Success Looks Like

We intend to build our MVP by the end of September 2022 and launch a cloud service by the end of October 2022. As the organisation grows, you will be a core member of the team developing and implementing our features roadmap once the initial rebuild is complete.

The Team

We primarily have a flat structure and you have full autonomy on how you want to approach the problem and solve it. You will report to Prabhat Sharma CEO and Founder (Ex AWS) and work alongside Ashish Kolhe(Ex Siemens) and Hengfei Yang (Ex CTO at multiple orgs) We will discuss and plan roadmap and ideas together during our daily SCRUM call and pride ourselves on building the best solutions in the industry.
