Job Summary

This opportunity is open to full time or part time employment. As a result of our significant project pipeline, and with an increase in our long-term major projects across Australia and New Zealand, AECOM’s Civil Infrastructure group in Canberra has multiple opportunities for Senior Civil Engineers to join our team. We are looking for candidates who want to set their career on a new trajectory by delivering a wide range of major infrastructure projects while establishing and building existing client relationships. This role is tailor-made for an individual who is passionate about developing into a future leader, who loves working with people and has the passion to mentor and lead teams aligned with AECOM’s vision to build a better world.

Working with a high performing team of engineers, scientists, designers and drafters with a passion for digital delivery, you will be supporting the team in winning, managing and delivering projects across a diverse range of transport and civil infrastructure projects. You will have the opportunity to contribution beyond the Hunter, collaborating with best-in-industry peers across Australia, New Zealand and throughout our global offices to create whole-of-business success. Your experience will enable you to immediately contribute to the team. However, ongoing personal development is a major driver of the AECOM business. Responsibilities Include:
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design Elements for engineering works.
Minimum Requirements

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be engaged, and excited by project delivery and the successful integration of varied specialist and multi-disciplinary stakeholders. Ideally you will have:

  • Experience in the planning and detailed design of highways elements including civil arrangements, highway / cycleway / footpath geometric design, sign design, utilities assessment and coordination, safety barrier design and coordination of multi-disciplinary design inputs.
  • Demonstrated experience in high quality technical and non-technical report writing.
  • Experienced in proposal development, winning, and delivering projects to a high standard, within budget and on time.
  • Commercial and contractual management of civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in project delivery under ‘design only’ and ‘design and construct’ delivery models.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering CPEng, RPEQ or working towards attaining. This role typically suits someone with 5+ years relevant experience, but open to have good conversations regardless of experience.
