Building a sustainable tomorrow

A Project Quantity Surveyor is required to work on our £24m project modifying the existing dock area and new slipway for Milford Haven Port Authority. As a Project Quantity Surveyor, your work will includesome demolition, earthworks, RC works and MEICA and you will operate within a tidal environment, commencing early 2022. The project will run till Autumn 2022 after which you will have the opportunity to transfer within the division, with projects throughout Wales and South West England.


Your mission

You willpersonally beresponsiblefor:
Maintaining high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with Company policy. This includes promotingand supporting the declared vision,Your Safety is My Safety.Refer to NP1
Maintainingeffective communication with ContractManagers, Project Managers, Managing / Project QSs and other associated disciplines
Assisting in staff matters which may include: staff succession awareness, development, competency and retainment
Advisingon project needs to ensure adequate commercial support is provided. This includes providinginput to staff performance and development reviews and management of the commercial training programme as well as delivering commercial training
Attending commercial meetings/forums as required by the business and providinginput to project start-up and close-out meetings
Assisting in drafting and promotingusage of business/commercial processes. Supportingthe roll out andthe business as required
Undertakingaudits and providingfeedback
Providing commercial input to preconstruction activities as required
Providingcommercial input with clients representatives. Refer to NP26
Providingsupport and guidance and, where necessary, being involved in implementing actions and agreed strategy from all commercial discussions / reviews for project issues;providing commercial advice and taking part in any discussions concerning project performance and strategy
Ensuringthe production of timely and accurate monthly cost and value reports, quarterly forecasts and cash-flow information and presenting them to senior management
Ensuringthe timely production and presentation of adequate levels of applications for payment are in accordance with the provisions of the conditions of contract. Refer to NP9
Dealing with change management including adherence to the programme established approach and the requirements of NP21 & NP2
Providinginput to risk profiling and management on projects. Implementing & supporting the use of NP22
Producingand negotiatinginsurance claims with insurers representatives. Refer to NP22
Liaisingwith and/or managingexternal consultants and designers. Refer to NP7 & NP20
Providingcommercial contact with supply chain partners through contract vetting and inputting to sub-contract documentation
Managing/ carrying out regular materialreconciliations. Refer to NP5, NP6 & NP15

Qualifications & Experience
The following are mandatory requirements:
To have operated at Senior Quantity Surveyor level
To be a Member or Fellow of the CICES or RICS
Lead by example, promoting the company values
To be part of the mentoring community


The following are desirable requirements:
To have an understanding of the Operating Plan and Strategic Plan for your Project/s
Proven ability to maintain and enhance client relationships
Understanding of construction law and contractual terms in all standard contract forms
Familiar with succession planning and encouragingtalent to pursue their careers
