Process Engineer
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for process improvement for existing manufacturing equipment, as well as process development and implementation for newly installed equipment. Respond to production team needs, and develop and implement process improvements for safety, quality, waste, cost, and productivity improvement. Work with cross-functional teams to coordinate and implement corrective actions.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Root Cause Analysis and then design and implement solutions
- New Product Introduction – Process Capability of the Department vs. Product Specifications
- Reduce product variation by computing department equipment capability and making changes as necessary
- Conduct Kaizen events to eliminate waste
- Continual Improvement initiatives
- Capital project commercialization
- Work cell optimization - Define and setups
- Generate ideas, track, and implement process improvements for improving capacity and waste reduction
- Track production downtime and cycle times
- Lead the investigation team to find root cause and corrective/preventative actions to prevent reoccurrence for each production quality event. This includes ensuring all documentation is completed promptly for each event. Conduct root cause and failure analysis meetings as appropriate
- Support the production training program by participating in the shift huddles and training on best practices for capacity improvements and waste reduction; develop operations procedures for the training program
Requirements
- BS in Engineering, or related field
- 1+ years in a similar Process Engineer/process improvement role
- AutoCAD experience
- Green belt certification and earlier project management experience, preferred
- Exposure to Root Cause and/or Failure Analysis
- Exposure to Kaizen methodologies.
