Field Service Technician

Job Description:

The Field Service Technician will perform maintenance of HVAC equipment including repairing and replacing defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, chillers, and condensate boilers. This role will also inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks.


Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform Maintenance of HVAC Equipment: Repairs and replaces defective equipment, components, or wiring including, VFDs, boilers, electrical and refrigerant circuits, screw, scroll, and reciprocal compressors, rooftop systems up to 150 tons, Scroll chillers up to 200 tons
  • Conduct Warranty Service Application: Independently inspect and test systems to verify functionality, rooftop units up to 150 tons
  • Perform Start-Up: Verify functionality of new equipment. Educate customers on the proper use of equipment maintenance schedule, and operating manual
  • Rebuilds: Leads the rebuild of a unit. Directs level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations of all necessary steps
  • Customer Service: Demonstrates professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communication. Interacts with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call. Explains technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Support Sales: Communicates potential sales opportunities to Service Sales Representative. Identifies opportunities for minor service and repair work through service agreements
  • Conduct Technician Training: Responsible for mentoring level I service technicians


About you:

  • You have basic knowledge of data entry, the ability to navigate and use email, internet, and word processing programs
  • Minimum of 5 years of HVAC field experience
  • Must speak English
  • You have a clean driving record
  • You’re willing to take a pre-employment drug test
  • Willing to travel within the state 50%
  • Willing to travel out of state for training on occasion
