Logistics Coordinator (Imports)

Ships are sailing, imports need coordinating… the Logistics team is hiring!

Due to continued growth, including additional ships won, we are currently hiring for a Logistics Coordinator (Imports), based at our Avonmouth office.

Do you have previous experience of importing goods into the UK, with familiarity of import duties, taxes, controls and commodity codes? Are you analytical, numerical with keen attention to detail? About the role:

The Import Logistics Coordinator is responsible for all administrative and coordination tasks relating to the importation of duty suspended goods into a customs warehouse. It is part of a busy team, based within the warehouse, so great teamwork and communication skills are a must.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Communicate with couriers, freight forwarders and customs brokers regarding the delivery of duty suspended goods
  • Provide Customs clearance instructions to couriers, freight forwarders and customs brokers to enable correct Import documentation to be raised
  • Keep import records up to date, ensuring that they are in good order
  • Organise offloads and transfer of stock ensuring all correct Customs procedures are adhered to and correct documentation is produced
  • Communicate effectively with Retail Managers on board, as well as cruise line partners
  • Working closely with internal customers to ensure all relevant deliveries have been scheduled and planned
  • Perform additional logistical tasks that are required to support the wider team

About you:

  • Previous knowledge of importing goods into the UK
  • Comprehension of Incoterms and their impact on Customs clearance
  • Understanding of Customs warehouses
  • Experience with HMRC and Customs compliance
  • Familiarity with commodity codes, import duties, taxes and controls
  • Able to work on your own initiative and has exceptional team working skills
  • Keen attention to detail, able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Analytical and numerical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Must have an existing right of eligibility to work in the UK
