Analyst, Strategic Sourcing

Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished strategic sourcing analyst to evaluate and optimize our vendor performance and logistics. As a strategic sourcing analyst, your duties will include assessing the efficiency of our supply chain, scheduling projects, and analyzing cost structures. You will also be required to study market behavior & build quantitative presentations to help support business decision making.

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate extensive experience in strategic sourcing and evaluating procurement metrics. Top-notch strategic sourcing analysts are experts in forecasting market trends.

  • Create and maintain reporting for Sourcing & Procurement (S&P) team.
  • Develop and maintain internal spend analysis and support sourcing events through relevant reporting.
  • Identify, report, and communicate trends impacting the performance of the department through supporting metrics & data.
  • Ensure consistent data integrity.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and metric reporting.
  • Assist in development of Sourcing & Procurement initiatives & return on investment (ROI) via quantifiable data.
  • Development of category baselines.
  • Tracking cost savings, spend compliance, demand management, and pricing variances.
  • Ability to identify trends regarding spend and demand
  • Develop sourcing forecasts and provide input on budgets.
  • Support the team with S&P functions including RFPs and Vendor Management
  • Ability to write and verbalize the results of data analysis clearly, concisely, and expediently to team.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to understand demand, business requirements, supplier trends, and analyzes financial information related to total cost of ownership
  • Develops strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Acts as an Essex ambassador in building and maintaining sustainable relationships with the field and other internal departments.

Work Experience / Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferred (Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Management)
  • Minimum 2-4 yrs. experience in data analytics, procurement, REIT operations, or consulting.
  • Preferred experience with Strategic Sourcing across multiple product and service categories.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and prioritize requests independently
  • Strong analytical proficiencies and technical knowledge.
  • Robust MS Office Suite skills including advanced Excel skills & Visio.
  • Strong interpersonal, client facing, and teamwork attributes.
  • Able to work in a professional, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or MBA
  • Languages & Software (SAS, Python)
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
