Summary of Position: This position is responsible for directing, managing, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of facilities and services for the Regional Learning Center ensuring that all systems, practices, and activities are in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable Federal and State laws. The position will create, develop, direct, and lead the regional learning center team. The position will be the Western liaison/contact/representative in their community and region served. This position works to promote social justice within the division and the larger academic institution.

Essential Functions

1. Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required.
2. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department. Perform other duties as assigned.
3. Staffing - Supporting Duty Statements:

  • Manage vacation and leave time
  • Provide RLC orientation to new staff
  • Provides leadership, oversight and direction to RLC staff
  • Identify needs and lead hiring process for office staff, note takers, work studies, handy man, and test proctors
  • Meet regularly with staff to discuss work-related issues, activities, and goals
4. Facility Management/Coordination - Supporting Duty Statements:
  • First point of contact 24/7 for facility emergency monitoring systems (fire and burglary)
  • Authorize and assign building access
  • Determine facility needs/concerns and create course of action to resolve and communicate/coordinate with custodial services, lawn maintenance, snow removal, computer services, facilities project manager, security officer, handy man and other outsourced services
  • Approve and assign office and classroom space
  • Approve short term room rental agreements
  • Verify long term rental agreements for allocated space
5. Operations/Coordination - Supporting Duty Statements:
  • Monitor and manage RLC budget and determine budget base reductions or additions
  • Lead and coordinate the strategic planning process and prepare planning document
  • Evaluate and analyze capital dollar needs and prepare capital dollar request document
  • Verify and approve monthly work schedule and timecards
  • Ensuring compliance of the Affordable Car Act, identify, approve, and report work hours for temporary staff and adjunct instructors
  • In accordance with College procedure, determine and recommend emergency weather closing to Director of Enrollment Services adhering to the College communication policy and procedure
  • Determine and respond to crisis situations ensuring the safety and security of all stakeholders within the RLC facility as stipulated by the College Emergency Management Plan
  • Oversees procedures of cash handling, credit card purchases, bank deposits and invoices
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of student services processes and procedures
6. Customer Relations - Supporting Duty Statements:
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve quality of customer service, productivity, and profitability by benchmarking best practices and analyzing information
  • Investigate and resolve internal and external customer problems which may be complex or long-standing and track to resolution
  • Oversee the achievement and maintenance of agreed customer services levels and standards
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to develop informational and promotional publications for internal and external users
  • Establish and maintain effective and professional regional business relations & partnerships with customers
  • Represent Western at various community events:ribbon cutting ceremonies, grand openings, Chamber meetings/events, and other
7. Student Success is the cornerstone of Western's culture and the college may assign employees as needed to other areas or additional duties to foster this success.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Supervisory Mgmt or related field
  • 3 years' experience in related field
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Starting annual salary range based on education and experience: $51,442 - $65,659
