About the Role:

As a project manager you will collaborate with team members, clients, vendors, and third parties to plan and oversee projects. As a NYSTEC consultant you will be a project lead on a public health or health information technology project. You will need to be proactive in identifying opportunities and challenges and in taking immediate action, communicating constantly and clearly with our clients, their stakeholders, and vendors. Serving as a project manager, your day-to-day role will include assisting clients with improving business operations, facilitating work group meetings, and coordinating external stakeholder communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a project plan related to the assigned initiative.
  • Organize and maintain the stakeholder communication process.
  • Report to client executives on progress, milestones, and status.
  • Manage and coordinate project documentation updates.
  • Facilitate large work group meetings while representing NYSTEC on high-profile New York State Department of Health initiatives.

About You:

Required Qualifications

  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team to develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Skilled in performing tasks in a timely manner.
  • Exceptional analytical skills to meet project goals.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to manage and develop key relationships with colleagues and clients through collaborative thinking and a strong customer focus.
  • Ability to be proactive when providing updates to clients.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications

  • Project management professional (PMP) certification.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet or other project management software or applications.


  • A bachelors' degree and five years of related project management experience in a business/technology setting. An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.
