Manager, Credentialing

Description

AACC, a DC-based dynamic, international scientific/medical society of clinical laboratory professionals, physicians, and research scientists focused on clinical chemistry and related disciplines, is seeking a Credentialing Manager.


The Manager, Credentialing is responsible for the management and growth of accreditation and credentialing programs in the field of clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine. Responsibilities include managing committee and exam processes for AACC's Point-of-Care Testing Professional Certification and for the American Board of Clinical Chemistry (ABCC) - both of which test the knowledge of exam-takers and track diplomate status of successful candidates in their respective areas of expertise - and facilitating the activities with the support of the Coordinator, Professional Education. the Commission on Accreditation in Clinical Chemistry (ComACC), which assesses and accredits clinical chemistry fellowship programs across North America.


This position reports to the Director, Professional Education, and supervises and is supported by the Coordinator, Education Programs. The Manager will work with teams across the association to ensure credentialing exam applications and exam proctoring timelines are met and diplomate status is tracked. A key part of this position is to grow the awareness and expand the reach of credentialing programs by working with teams across the association as well as with the respective committees. They will also be responsible for creating and maintaining budgets and ensuring these programs meet expectations.


Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as the primary staff liaison to ComACC, ABCC, and the Point-of-Care Testing Professional certification program boards and program committees.
  • Manage processes, timelines, and exams of credentialing bodies (ABCC and Point-of-Care Profession certification program).
  • Manage the technology platforms used in application, candidate review, examination, diplomate tracking, and maintenance of certification for credentialing bodies.
  • Manage processes and timelines of ComACC to support training program accreditation.
  • Assess feedback from respective committees to prioritize enhancements and improvements to application, exam, and diplomate tracking processes.
  • Assess feedback from test-takers and work with committee members to ensure exam content remains a timely representation of respective areas of expertise.
  • Work closely with the Marketing, Communications, and IT teams to grow awareness of accreditation and credentialing bodies and their role in advancing the field of laboratory medicine.
  • Work closely with the Director, Professional Education to develop strategies to support the needs across training and credentialing programs.
  • Supervise the Coordinator, Education Programs.
  • Manage and mentor staff to maintain a positive, productive working environment in alignment with AACC core values.
  • Prepare annual budgets and determine allocation of funds to meet financial goals.
  • Occasionally, travel to and attend meetings to support onsite logistics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in maintaining credentialing programs that includes exam maintenance and managing multiple member groups in a professional or trade association. They will have insight into operational efficiencies and a desire and ability to introduce process improvements. The ideal candidate will have:


  • 6+ years' experience in a professional or trade association focused on credentialing programs or equivalent.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams with an ability to build consensus among multiple stakeholders in a face-paced environment.
  • Experience managing certification programs and exam processes is required.
  • Committee management and supervisory experience are required.
  • Strong program and project management, interpersonal, and delegation skills are required.
  • Knowledge of the field of laboratory medicine or degree in biomedical science is desired.

AACC currently is working a hybrid office schedule with staff coming into the office one day a week with the ability to work remotely from home up to four days a week.
