The role

- YMT Vacations needs a strong business & marketing analyst to conduct data analysis to provide insights into sales and marketing performance and aid in tactical planning and strategic decision-making.

- The marketing analyst is responsible for systematically analyzing customer data to leverage the insights from these analyses to increase marketing effectiveness (for new and existing) customers and to help improve the customer experience.

- He or she will be responsible for designing and running high-impact customer analyses in helping to answer complex customer-related questions by applying structured and technical problem-solving techniques.

- The Marketing Analyst manages reporting and data capability developments for the YMT marketing department and reports.

- This role also works cross-functionally with the newly created Travelopia customer insights and analytics team, and the Sr. Commercial Business Analyst for USTO, both located in Bangalore.

What you will be doing:


- Design and run high-impact customer analyses to support the brand in answering customer-related questions.

- Execute various customer analyses around customers such as RFV (recency, frequency, value analyses) or repeat customer behaviors.

- Validate that data is up to date & accurate

- Interpret analyses to deliver customer insights and recommendations.

- Mine existing customer data to generate insights and to generate value.

- Validate marketing and business hypotheses through customer data analyses

- Create reports on outcomes from certain marketing initiatives, be able to consolidate offline and online data to communicate the full picture. Build, update or automate various reports as needed. Utilize data visualization tools such as Google Data Studio.

- Be able to build and edits reports and dashboards in Business Objects as needed.

- Be able to analyze and integrate data from online sources including Google Analytics

- Understand business challenges & opportunities and identify where customer data could help support business decisions

- Create and upload offline conversion reports to digital partners

- Effective Stakeholder Communication

- Effectively communicate and collaborate with the technology and data team

- Effectively update the Marketing Director and Executive Team on customer analyses and insights

- Be a valuable thought partner in the team on customer data & insight related topics

- Be able to provide data visualization that illustrates key insights

What we are looking for:

Technical skills:

- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in statistics, analytics, math, or related fields.

- 2+ years experience in an analytics role (preferably in the field of customer, product, or marketing) with a strong focus on creating analyses and delivering customer insights

- 2+ years of experience working with SQL to analyze, explore, and mine large data sets to support reporting and ad-hoc analysis.

- Experience with Google Data Studio and Google Big Data

- Experience with Google Analytics

- Strong data & analytical skills & track record of delivery. Proven experience designing and performing complex data analyses

- Proven experience building compelling and engaging data visualization and presentation.

- Strategic understanding – ability to connect data, analytics, and strategic thinking

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy of the output

- High competency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

- Previous use of Business Objects, Tableau, or PowerBI preferred

- Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills

- Collaborative and exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills

- Strong work ethic

- Does what it takes to get the job done and naturally goes the extra mile

Working Conditions

Be willing to work 5-10 hours a week overlapping with US Pacific Time Zone.
