Process Automation – Head Of Engineering

Position Overview
Role: Head of Process Automation Platforms
Reporting to: Head of Developer Tools and Automation Platforms
Team Background
The End User Computing (EUC) team in CTO is responsible for all desktop, end user automation, engineering, and collaboration tools within the bank.
The Process Automation Platforms team in EUC addresses four key intelligent automation capabilities.
. Workflow tools and platforms
. Enterprise Content Management (Document Management and Regulatory Archival)
. Robotics (Attended, Unattended and Chatbots)
. Optical Character Recognition and NLP
These tools and platforms are used by several thousand users across the bank and contribute to our strategy, achieving business efficiencies and regulatory compliance. They also drive the continuous push to use innovative technology.
As a servant leader, you will lead the Process Automation Platforms for the organization. This will include the Product Management, Engineering, and the Operations of the bank-wide platforms in this portfolio.
You will be partnering with internal business and technology stakeholders to -
(a) Drive engineering and adoption of these tools and platforms to achieve the goals of the organisation, using a Product Management discipline
(b) Define and drive implementation of the 3-5 years road map for intelligent automation capabilities as platforms using evolving capabilities e.g., ML, Cloud, container-technology
(c) Build and nurture a community of (internal) users of these platforms
(d) Work collaboratively with our users to deliver and run these platforms as per Service Level Objectives and the standards of the bank
(e) Identify and drive synergies with other platforms in EUC/CTO and other parts of the bank that promotes reuse and integration of capabilities
Experience sought
(a) You must have interest and experience in enterprise platform design and engineering using principles of multi-tenancy, performance, container-based architectures for scalability, integration, AI/ML components, Cloud (preferably GCP) and use of SaaS platforms
(b) You must have interest and experience in running Enterprise Platforms supporting a community of users (both IT/CIO teams and Citizen-developers), propagating a network effect of generating value, reuse and collaboration.
(c) You should have interest and experience in working with third-party tool-based technical platforms preferably, IBM (BAW, FileNet, CMOD, Datacap), Google Doc AI or similar products.
(d) Awareness of RPA and Low-Code/No-Code platforms (Blueprism, Automation Anywhere, Kore.AI, Microsoft Power Platform, Google AppSheets) is an advantage but not a necessity. (Whilst experience in building solutions using one or more of these tools is helpful, this role will not entail building end-user solutions but instead working with bank-wide users who will use these tools)
(e) You should have interest and experience in driving the commercial and business relationships with the vendor partners who provide us such tools
Graduate / Post-Graduate in Engineering disciplines
. Automation Tools (preferably Workflow, Document Management and OCR Products) (RPA - not essential)
. Solution Engineering, Cloud-based Architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), Container-technology, Platform Engineering
. Agile Development
. Product Management Practices
. Solution Architecture and Systems Integration
. Influencing engineering-led, technology-based solution decisions especially for Automation needs
. Building user networks, promoting adoption of enterprise-wide tools
