Tax Accountant

About The Role

The Tax analyst is part of an in-house tax team for AVEVA, India.

Core Responsibilities of Tax analysts include supporting Tax and Compliance managers to ensure that Aveva is in full compliance with all the direct tax laws, indirect tax laws, RBI and FEMA Compliances, RoC and MCA Compliances. The role requires engagement with the entity controlling team, shared services team, external consultants, internal stakeholders, vendors and customers.

Compliance Responsibilities

Direct Tax – For all the legal entities in India

i. Vendor Withholding Tax (WHT) – deduction and payments WHT on a monthly basis

ii. Filling of WHT returns on a quarterly basis for domestic and foreign vendors

iii. Downloading of WHT/ TDS certificates on a quarterly basis and issuing them to vendors

iv. Collecting customer WHT/ TDS certificates on a quarterly basis and ensuring safe custody

v. Reconciling WHT certificates with WHT appearing in the ledger and Form 26AS

vi. Working with Revenue controller and financial controlling team to compile all the data for obtaining lower withholding tax certificate from tax authority for customer payments

vii. Working of Advance Tax and timely payments

viii. Reconciling ledger with Vendor WHT returns and Taxes deducted from vendor invoices

ix. Closely working with the SSC team for compiling data for a Tax audit by Tax auditors

x. Closely working with the SSC team for compiling data for a Tax audit by Tax authorities and investigations

xi. Liasoning with consultants for obtaining Form 15CB and issuing Form 15CA for foreign remittances

xii. Filing Income tax return forms for various entities

xiii. Filing Transfer Pricing return in Form 3CEB, 3CEAA etc.

xiv. Filing Various Income Tax forms such as Form 29C, 56F etc.

xv. Compiling data and preparing details in order to respond to various notices from Tax offices

xvi. Compliance of IP owners and other Aveva Group entities in India

Indirect Tax – For all legal entities in India

i. Compiling and processing date for GST monthly and Annual returns in form GSTR1, GSTR3B, GSTR9 and 9C

ii. Ensuring that GST positions adopted by the company are complied with

iii. Reconciliation of Input tax credits as per books and as per GSTR2A / GSTR2B

iv. Liasioning with Vendors for the missed input tax credit

v. Retrieving and processing data and documents for old Indirect tax issues related to Service Tax and VAT

vi. Responsible for all Indirect Tax Compliances in India with the help of the Tax and Compliance manager

vii. Handling Audits and investigations in terms of data preparation and retrieval of documents

viii. Obtaining a letter of undertaking as and when required

ix. Arranging E-Waybills for material movement from one state to other states

x. Filing GST refund claim and getting refunds

xi. Advising finance controlling team and business on various Indirect tax matters

xii. Verifying and reconciling GST TDS deducted by the customer and taking the appropriate input tax credit

xiii. Review Accounts payable and General ledger and Identify nature of transactions, where reverse change mechanism is applicable and calculate payment of taxes

xiv. Review of balance sheet reconciliation pertaining to Indirect tax GLs

• Assisting in FEMA and RBI compliances

• Working with consultants for RoC and MCA compliances

• Liaison with tax advisor on transactional matters
