New Job | Manchester – Interim Payroll Officer – c£300 per day inside IR35 – 6 months

Morson are proud to be partnering with a Global Sustainable Logistics Company looking to recruit a Payroller to their Manchester based office for a period of 6 months.

We are looking for an experienced Payroller to run a complete end to end payroll process for circa 1000, hourly paid workers.

You will be responsible for processing payroll, remitting payroll taxes and government reporting as well as preparing monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll statements. Ensure compliance with government regulations, pension auto enrolment. establishing and implementing policies on matters such as payroll advancements to employees.

The Payroll Officer role will include duties such as:

  • Provide a timely and accurate payroll system.
  • Provide comprehensive first-line advice to employees within the business.
  • Ensure all necessary payments are made within the deadlines set, for example, pension contributions and BACS salary payments.
  • Performs the distribution of wages through direct transfers to employees’ bank accounts.
  • Ensure current payroll knowledge is up to date and inline with HMRC, with procedures updated accordingly.
  • Maintain payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating and inputting data.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in payroll records.
  • Honour confidentiality of employees’ payroll records.
  • Complete payroll reports for record-keeping purposes or managerial review.

What we are looking for –

  • Experience in running payroll for a 1000+ employee company
  • Experience with SAP payroll system is essential
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Ability to work on a deadline
  • High attention to detail and quality
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of statutory requirements.
  • Be able to communicate effectively.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Team player

Location: Remote, but Northwest based, with ability to visit Manchester office if/when required

Salary: circa£300 per day inside IR35
