as a sr. linux engineer working on the global it team, you will be tasked with building and securing the blaize linux environment. utilizing the depth and breadth of your hands-on knowledge and experience, you will install, configure, and administer linux servers.
in this key role, you will be instrumental in monitoring performance, tuning, upgrading, and troubleshooting our global linux systems. you will manage backup recovery and will be responsible to ensure system availability is maximized. you will work with centos, ubuntu and redhat.
we are seeking an individual with exceptional hands-on technical and communication skills. your primary responsibilities will include the design and delivery of high-performing, secure systems and the evaluation, adoption and deployment of the tools and systems to maintain these environments across the company.

evaluate new products, features and technologies which improve service availability and reduce costs, while providing comprehensive analysis and detailed implementation recommendations.
delivery of robust and comprehensive documentation, incorporating best practices which address disaster recovery, architecture, topology, support models, maintenance, troubleshooting runbooks, deployment cookbooks, disaster recovery, technotes, testing, etc.
automation - drive simple and scalable approach to new technology solutions using automation to enable the organization to easily deploy and operate new features, capabilities, and functionality.
coach, mentor, and motivate junior team members and contractors, providing positive career and personal growth.
- install/configure linux, perform system maintenance, monitor system performance, provide technical support and guidance.

what you must bring
atleast 8 years of significant hands-on linux experience.
experience developing automation and standardization across a company.
proven ability to work independently and with little supervision.
experience with git, build, and ci/cd release engineering.
team player with a positive and collaborative attitude.
strong technical leadership, teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.
what you should bring
experience with scripting such as bash/shell or python.
experience with related tools such as lsf/slurm, high-performance storage arrays, ansible and vmware.
an understanding of computer architecture.
