People & Culture Generalist

A Day in the Life

The People & Culture Generalist will support all aspects of Vessel employees and their experience working with us. They will be responsible for supporting leaders through the employee lifecycle and being the go-to person for all questions relating to company policies, benefits and programs. The P&C Generalist will support recruitment as needed along with policy writing and P&C communication to the company. The People & Culture Generalist will oversee team member data and records.

Here's What You Do

  • Act as frontline support for all team members and managers, including coordinating internal P&C resources to support their needs
  • Support the P&C Coordinator with the onboarding process to ensure that everyone who walks through the door is set up for success in their role and understands Vessel’s core values
  • Develop guides and company-wide communications for team members and leaders relating to benefits, employee programs and engagement
  • Administrate various employee programs and policies including but not limited to: leave of absence administration, worker’s compensation claims processes, engagement surveys and reporting
  • Assist in building training programs across the organization to support both compliance needs and employee growth
  • Work with the P&C Coordinator to deliver training on any and all aspects of P&C including: software (ATS, HRIS), benefits programs, personal and leadership development, employee relations
  • Ownership of employee data and documentation throughout the employee lifecycle including compliance documentation as required
  • Act as P&C point of contact for any questions related to payroll and employee expenses
  • Lead development and implementation of employee perks and engagement programs in coordination with People & Culture Coordinator
  • Work with Director of People & Culture on projects and duties based on business needs

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in a similar People & Culture role
  • A degree or diploma in an HR-related field
  • Knowledge of Employment Standards Legislation and safe work best practices
  • Experience working with HRIS software, preferably Workday
