University Background:Basic Function:Under the direction of the Director of Admission, provide information regarding the University to prospective students; travel to various cities, in and outside of California, to recruit students and make presentations to high schools and community colleges; interviews students, reviews applications and scholarship essays, follows up with students, selects qualified applicants, and makes recommendations regarding admissions and awarding of scholarships as appropriate; provides support to recruitment activities in areas including but not limited to transfer and multicultural recruitment, professional development and community relations.
Representative Duties: - Travel to various cities and make presentations to high schools, community colleges, and other community organizations; participate in college fairs; answer questions regarding the admission process and the University; make travel and lodging arrangements as necessary. E
- Coordinate recruitment and admission for selected regional community colleges. E
- Give presentations to prospective students and their families and community organizations. E
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of multicultural recruitment strategies. E
- Interview prospective students off site at various locations. E
- Read and evaluate applications and scholarship essays; assure applicant credentials meet qualifications for admission; select qualified applicants and make recommendations regarding admissions and awarding of scholarships to the Director. E
- Meet with prospective students individually; respond to questions or concerns of students; follow up with students as needed. E
- Make, receive and respond to various forms of communication; respond to inquiries regarding scholarships, financial aid, admissions process and related matters. E
- Ability to use MS Office and other PC based software and databases and other office equipment as assigned. E
- Prepare and maintain records and reports related to assigned activities. E
- Participate in the development of publicity materials including letters, brochures and fliers. E

- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to internal and external audiences
- Organize and schedule work
- Operate a computer and other office equipment
Minimum Qualifications:Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor's Degree and intern experience in a college or university setting
Preferred Qualifications:Fluency in Spanish
Licenses and Other Requirements:Ability to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
Valid driver's license
