Market Development Representative

Overview

We are looking for a motivated and well-spoken market development representative to join our marketing team. The Market Development Rep (MDR) will be responsible for following up of inbound leads, developing new leads via outbound strategies, communicating with prospects, identify organisations’ current and future IT challenges to help match AvePoint products and support services to those needs, working closely with the mid-market sales team to ensure a smooth sales process. 

As our first Market Development Rep in Australia this key role in the organisation. Reporting to the Marketing Director and working alongside the mid-market sales team, you will play a crucial role in establishing relationships and positively positioning our software solutions to prospective customers. We are seeking a tenured BDR or salesperson who loves to deal with people over the phone, email and social media. You are self-motivated, target driven and aim to excel. 

What you’ll be doing

Our marketing team is generating demand and inbound enquiries daily that need your expertise to qualify and convert to revenue. The MDR will be goaled to find and create new sales opportunities from inbound and outbound activities. You will educate prospects, create interest and move the prospect along in the early stages of the sales process. The performance of the MDR in this position will be judged by the volume and quality of appointments secured as well as the subsequent revenues generated from the activities. You are not restricted to calling, you will be given access to sales engagement tools enabling you to research, manage workload and outreach via multiple channels.

Responsibilities:

Communicating with mid-market and enterprise prospects, making outbound calls to prospects, and following up on leads.Understanding prospects' needs, researching, qualifying, and identifying sales opportunities.Positioning AvePoint effectively to facilitate a high conversion of leads to qualified pipeline opportunities by executing and communicating effective product and solution-based messaging.Educating prospects, answering questions and sending additional information via email.Utilising CRM and sales engagement tools to accurately record customer data, activity and outcomes of each engagement.Building multi-touch, multi-channel sequences to proactively follow up with prospects.Keeping up with product and solution information and updates and be able to articulate our differentiators.Managing a pipeline of prospects to book “productive” meetings for AE’s that lead to pipeline and revenue.Working with sales account executives to help prospect their territories.Staying informed about competing products and services.Researching prospective target accounts and building account based outbound strategies to win business in partnership with AE team.

Is passionate about market development5 years+ experience in an outbound call centre or a related sales position.Prior outbound cold calling experience in IT/Security in a B2B corporate environment. Sales experience or good knowledge of M365 products is a plus.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software such as Salesforce.com/Dynamics.Experience using sales engagement tools such as Outreach a plus.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Good organisational skills and the ability to multitask.Excellent phone and cold calling skills.Exceptional customer service skills.Strong listening and sales skills.Ability to achieve targets.Strong desire to succeed.Highly driven and motivatedTeam player
