Software Engineer in Test (SDET)

Description

The SDET will lead our client's QA automation strategy, build a test automation infrastructure, and enable software engineers to develop well-tested code in a fast flow, agile team environment. You will enhance and augment the testing efforts of software developers to ensure new features and functions perform to the highest standard.

Position Responsibilities

  • Creates highly reusable test steps that can be easily used by others to write test cases

  • Develops documentation, tools, and framework extensions

  • Partners with engineering teams to ensure automated testing is fully enabled

  • Creates and refines automation tools within an AWS cloud environment

  • Triages and stabilizes unreliable tests, and optimize tests to increase capacity

  • Defines, adapts, and documents quality processes as team and product needs change

  • Advocates for quality in all products and services

  • Performs other duties as assigned

    Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a QA automation engineer or a SDET role

  • Experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress)

  • Experience integrating automated tests into the build process

  • Experience in at least one of the scripting language, preferably Python

  • API/RESTful service testing experience

  • Kubernetes/Docker/AWS platform experience or similar technologies

  • Excellent communication and deductive reasoning skills

  • Ability to achieve results both independently and in a team

  • Proven attention to detail and knowledge of information design

  • Demonstrated ability to meet and achieve professional goals and achieve timely follow-through on commitments

  • Approach challenges as opportunities to improve and grow both self and team

  • Ability to prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth work environment with rapidly shifting priorities

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
