Job Summary

We are seeking a Facilities Engineer for our Microbial Solutions site located in Charleston, SC.

Perform and coordinate engineering activities such as planning, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and equipment of buildings and facilities. There will be particular focus on continuous evaluation of facilities support equipment (including, but not limited to, HVAC, generators, electrical, building structure, lighting etc.). This person will also perform analyses of operational processes, energy use, and safety processes, crisis management and recommend and implement improvements.

The following are the minimum job duties & responsibilities related to the Facilities Engineer:

• Perform routine and complex engineering design (including HVAC, electrical systems and structural) for CRL property renovations or new building projects.
• Coordinate the engineering activities for a project or a segment of a larger project.
• May have responsibility to monitor progress of contacts in assigned areas, while insuring conformance to specifications, including project cost, construction schedules, and authorizing contract payments.
• May attend pre-award meetings when engineering expertise is required.
• Responsible for securing permits and licenses, according to local, state, and/or federal regulations.
• Assist in day-to-day planning of Facility repairs
• Monitor and review preventive maintenance program including HVAC systems
• Assist in Safety assessments for the facility
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

The following are the minimum qualifications related to the Facilities Engineer:

• Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, civil) or related discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of five years related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
• Certification/Licensure: PE a plus.
• Other: Project Management experience required. Proficient with AutoCAD.
