About the Role

The Continuous Improvement Supervisor will develop and implement Lean Manufacturing strategies that drive TCP initiatives and bottom-line improvements, part of the Annual Operating Plan. This role will work with Operations and other multi-functional teams to identify cost reduction opportunities (Cost Savings/Cost Avoidance) and facilitate action plans in conjunction with key partners, to implement sustained solutions.

What You Will Do:

  • Foster continuous improvement as a way of life; creating a culture of change.

  • Champion and lead initiatives that integrate Lean/Sigma throughout the facility, using: kaizen events, 5S, Six-Sigma, standard work, OEE, mistake proofing, etc. to reduce waste, optimize capital assets and improving material flow.

  • Establish and champion the 5S process within the facility.

  • Assist in the identification and cross leveraging of standard methodologies across the Operations team and Kichler as a whole.

  • Lead the implementation, coordination, and evaluation of continuous improvement actions across the extended value streams to eliminate waste and achieve targets.

  • Responsible for coaching the leadership team in achieving critical metrics aligned with performance and CI goals.

  • Work with internal/external suppliers and customers on improving the total enterprise.

  • Support the identification of production requirements ensuring alignment with process departments on needed capacity and priorities to achieve value stream goals along with the development and deployment of appropriate planning, replenishment and signaling tools and methodologies aligned with key engagement in business S&OP process.

  • Responsible for developing and deploying daily accountability process and employing problem solving methodologies to determine root cause and develop countermeasures for misses to daily targets, identifying and ensuring resolution of system issues and ensuring the successful accomplishment of extended value stream.

  • Ensure consistent application of CI methodology and standard work in alignment with CI peers.

  • Contribute to the organization to achieve productivity, inventory, quality, throughput, space, and safety objectives established

  • Develop a training and education plan to ensure employees possess the knowledge and skill required to implement and maintain Lean/Sigma efforts

  • Commit to the Health and Safety Mission, being a top business priority, and strive to implement standard methodologies to exceed regulatory compliance.

  • Coordinate Lean/Sigma events within the supply chain and other areas of the organization.

  • Perform audits to ensure gains are made and to sustain improvements

  • Sustain gains implemented through kaizen events.

  • Coordinate six-sigma projects

  • Facilitate Kaizen events.

  • Identify improvement opportunities across different business functions, streamline and prioritize.

  • Synthesize data on operational and other business metrics, drive process mapping, develop budgets and cost analysis to resolve project feasibility.

  • Track, measure, and report progress on project achievements using visual management tools and established Key Performance Indicators.

  • Assist in setting Annual TCP (Total Cost Productivity) targets and facilitate actions to realize targets.

  • Lead supplier performance improvement projects for Strategic suppliers, as applicable. (Overseas Travel).

What We Look For In A Candidate:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Operations related field

  • Six Sigma Black Belt desired

  • Training in managing multiple Kaizen events

  • Minimum of Five (5) years experience in a manufacturing environment implementing cost reductions, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Ability to mentor and facilitate lean culture development

  • Proven track record to work optimally in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and achieve results

  • Proven leadership, strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to drive accountability

  • Proven experience using continuous improvement methodology and tools such as (5 Why, Lean, 6 etc.)

  • Proficiency with personal computer applications, required (Excel, Word, Visio, and Power Point)

  • 15-20% Travel required (Domestic and Overseas)

Salary Range:

Min Range: $79,100.00 USD Annual

Mid Range: $113,000.00 USD Annual

Max Range: $146,900.00 USD Annual
