Full Stack Web Development Teaching Assistant - Rutgers University (Remote, US)

Are you an experienced full stack web developer who is passionate about education and making an impact? Do you love empowering others to find life-changing opportunities? Then this may be the position for you!

We believe learning a new skill, like full stack web development, should be exciting and engaging - and that starts with the instructional staff. You'll notice that prior teaching experience isn't a prerequisite to being a TA. If you bring knowledge, strong communication, and a positive energy to the classroom, you're going to help students along their transformative path to a successful and rewarding career. We'll provide the training, lesson plans, and tools to support you on your journey of impacting lives in the classroom.

Skills & Requirements
  • At least 6 months of experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required
  • Some familiarity with most or all of the following:
  • Front-end programming languages and frameworks such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Responsive Design, Bootstrap, Handlebars (or any templating framework), ReactJS
  • Working with databases, server-side languages and libraries like MongoDB, MySQL, Node, Express and ORMs
  • Version control (Git, Github) and deployment servers such as Heroku

What You Will Do:
  • Take attendance at the start of class
  • Ensure the Instructor stays on pace with the lesson plan
  • Assist students during activity and project work time
  • Research and answer student questions
  • Provide empathy, support, and encouragement while engaging students

Logistics:
  • 12-week, Full-Time Program
  • Classes meet M-F
  • Schedule: 9:15 AM - 3:00 PM (Includes 75 minutes of "Office Hours")

Hourly salary only: In Colorado, the anticipated hourly salary for this role is $20/hr. Note: The final compensation for this position may consider factors including the geographic location where the work is performed (candidate's assigned office) and prior work experience of the candidate.
