Mechanical Engineer(f/m/d)

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and implement projects of various size and scope to include, but not limited to, engineering studies, specifications, cost estimating, start-ups, and employee training.
  • Provide design and project management support to the Engineering and Maintenance Team in the mechanical area.
  • Become a valued TEAM member that helps lead the business towards a lean manufacturing culture with the proper application of technology.
  • Provide direct support to Mechanical Maintenance Team.
  • Perform Weekend On-Call duties on a rotating basis.
  • Support all company safety objectives through modification or redesign of equipment.
  • Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD and/or Inventor software.


Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from a 4-year ABET accredited school. Experience in a production operation with emphasis on mechanical machine design and/or prior experience in extrusion/plastics processing industry a plus.
  • Technical Mechanical Engineer background with emphasis toward practical machine operation, design, and specification.
  • Ability to lead, manage, and participate in projects of various size and scope including ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with and advise Maintenance Department in the diagnosis of problems and recommend improvements.
  • Working knowledge of available technical resources dealing in Nonwovens fabrics and/or related fields. Understanding of heat transfer systems, air handling fans, pumps, web tensioning & torque control, slitting and winding systems a plus.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic tools (thermography, anemometers, acoustic analysis, etc) a plus.
  • Good AutoCAD skills, AutoCAD 2008.
  • Experience using Inventor 3D Modeling software.
  • Must be willing to take "on call" coverage and work flexible, non-traditional hours.
