Engineering Manager (Remote)

We are looking to hire an Engineering Manager to join our Infrastructure team. In this role you will help to define strategy for our Infrastructure team and manage a team of Windows, UNIX/Linux, Virtualization engineers.

You will be responsible for up to 15 direct reports locally and globally. Your team may be local to the country or span across geographies.As part of the role, you will be a people leader and will recruit, retain, and motive talent. You will be held accountable for the deliveries and efficiency of your team.

What you will do

  • Grow, coach, and manage a team of skilled infrastructure engineers. Recruit and retain talent.

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of long-term technical projects and solutions

  • Collaborate on setting the vision and roadmap for foundational infrastructure

  • Prepare project plans, provide estimates for project tasks

  • Prioritize and manage workload for your team

  • Collaborate with vendors, manage service providers and colleagues.

  • Oversee operations, establish process and standard operating procedures

  • Prevent infrastructure outages and help manage major incidents

Working Environment:

  • Fully remote or hybrid

  • New team in a new engineering function. Plan for unexpected and for opportunities to set standards / policies. Also plan for frequent involvement in day-to-day incidents (operations) until you mature the environment.

  • Global organization with colleagues from overseas and work engagements outside of core business hours

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a similar leadership role

  • Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing with engineers, vendors, managers, business, clients.

  • Ability to write standard operating procedures, documentation, strategy documents and roadmaps

  • 2+ years of experience with Public Cloud (AWS/Azure)

  • 5+ years of experience with Private Cloud

  • 2+ years of software development experience

  • Deep understanding of Infrastructure technologies

Salary Range: $185,000 to $200,000 Annually
