A specialized position under limited supervision responsible for a blend of application development, solution leadership, and platform administrator duties. As part of an Agile team, build and support solutions within the application platform to classify and parse information from unstructured sources (Word, PDF, handwritten images, HTML, CSV, Etc) into structured data constructs for use in downstream automation. Creates and enforces best practices and standards in line with the best practices of the platform community as well as in compliance with Paychex best practices. Acts as a solution lead to the team as well as provide solution consultation and governance for federated teams. Create, provision, patch, and administer the platform through partnership with DevOps partners. Govern integration with the platform from other applications as well as solution deployments within the platform.
Research, architect, and design solutions inclusive of technologies such as Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), etc.
Validates requirements, performs analysis, design, programming, testing, documentation and support for assigned solutions.
Acquires and utilizes strong technical and / or application knowledge to independently produce deliverables and recognizes the impact (e.g. design documentation, system changes).
Acts as a solution lead on an Agile team triangle. Leads project teams to help deliver solutions as required.
Suggest and create best practices and standards for coding within the platform. Keep in line with the best practices of the platform community, but also in compliance with Paychex best practices.
Ensures team compliance with standards and procedures (e.g. change management, version control, implementation) and/or consistency of coding.
Ensures solution designs align with enterprise and corporate technology strategies and enables best-practice integrations
Perform and support platform deployment, provisioning, patching, tuning, and administration in sandbox, non-production, and production environments.
Partnership with Dev Ops teams to keep in line with all platform ownership standards at Paychex
Consults with software vendor on best practices and industry standards for application. Suggest improvements to vendor based on needs of the program and enterprise.
Knowledge of CI/CD principles and able to implement them within application development stacks
Understands application health best practices, documentation, and reporting on key metrics to demonstrate applications are healthy
Leads team to provide technical support on supported application software. Is proactive and reactive for problem alerting, analysis, resolution, and follow up to ensure platform stability. Provides guidance to less senior software engineers.
Serve as solution consult for future integration with applications and federated teams.
Partners with federated lines of business to ensure high quality delivery within the application platform.
Defines governance and process to enable controlled federation opportunities for platform usage by others within PD&IT as well as corporate lines of business
Ensures the creation and maintenance of technical reference documentation by team members. Ensures documentation is used in support and training of Information Technology (IT), Enterprise Support, and Business personnel.
Act as a mentor to application developers on the team and other federated teams.
Able to present technical information confidently in front of any level of audience.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer related discipline or equivalent work experience
Languages: Python, Java
Web Fundamentals, APIs, REST, and GraphQL
Database Systems and SQL
Strong Python or other scripting languages skills
Strong data engineering skills [data parsing, web scraping, data transformation,data integration, etc.]
Knowledge of RegEx -Preferred
Familiarity with parsing structured data from messy text [OCR, Image Processing, PDF, etc)
Strong data analysis skills

Strong ability to communicate with business analysts and users
$85,000 - $120,000.00 + RSU.
