Accountant II

Overview

Gilbane is seeking a Construction Project Accountant that will partner with our Project Teams and manage the financials and cash flow of Construction Management contracts throughout Northeast Ohio. If you are looking for a hands-on accounting opportunity, this is the role for you! As part of the Business Unit Accounting team, you will create and maintain relationships with our internal partners, contractors, and clients. This role is located in our downtown Cleveland office with limited travel as necessary.

Responsibilities

As a Construction Project Accountant, you will:

  • Mange setup and properly format project financial forecasts to meet both the internal team and client reporting needs
  • Manage contracts, amendments, insurance, bonds, SOV, Files, and Co Policies
  • Ensure timely management of accounts receivable and payables
  • Produce timely and accurate review of requisitions and lien waivers
  • Develop and maintain positive professional relationships both internally & externally
  • Assist the Controller with the WIP process
  • Review change management on assigned projects
  • Manage the project closeout process

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • 1-3 years with CM or General Contractor organization working on interior fitouts, multi-site programs, and tenant improvements
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proficient in CMiC
  • Understanding of the overall project execution process, including budgeting, project forecasting, cost control, schedule, anticipated cost and project profitability
