Business Planner

We are looking for a business planner / pricing strategist to drive growth and innovation in Microsoft Education. In this role, you will drive business model and address licensing scenarios for education solutions that include our Window, M365 and Azure business lines both in K12 and Higher Ed.

You will lead a virtual team of passionate peers from sales, engineering, product marketing, finance, and ops with accountability to develop and deliver the monetization strategy for educational products. You will be on a highly supportive and inclusive business planning team, where coaching and resources are prioritized to ensure your growth and success.

Responsibilities

On the Education business planning team, we are looking to break new grounds in how we drive adoption and share from schools, districts, MOEs and other EDU organizations while building a profitable and durable business.

  • Identify emerging trends and potential areas of growth for our EDU business.

  • Drive market intelligence and customer insights to formulate strategic vision and inform business model and pricing recommendations.

  • Partner closely with sale, engineering, product marketing and finance teams to develop product monetization strategy and price points.

  • Create business model requirements and lead workstreams across product and commerce teams to drive change and impact.

  • Evangelize and land new business model and pricing strategies with field and partners.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytics and ability to define novel business models and pricing approaches that unlock business growth

  • Proven ability to create and articulate a strategy, problem solve, influence others, and drive planning

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills and adaptability

  • Ability to influence and drive results in a complex technical and business environment

  • 3+ years experience in either management consulting, strategy, licensing/pricing, business and data analysis, or similar

  • Experience in the Education industry and technical depth is a plus, passion is a must

  • MBA or a Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics is preferred, Bachelors Required
