Reporting into the BI team at Wolters Kluwers highly innovative Legal & Regulatory Division, the Business Intelligence Engineer will expand and optimize our data and data pipeline architecture for utilization downstream by BI analysts in Tableau dashboards and in predictive models, as well as executing a range of high impact data analytics work. You will be managing and building out the BI teams data warehouse the heart of our tech stack.
As the Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be creating ETLs, dashboards and databases that allow for efficient collection and evaluation of BI data. You will be working closely with other BI team members and stakeholders to gain an understanding of BI goals and objectives to ensure the systems, their capabilities support efforts that achieve those goals.

Key Responsibilities
Specify, buildout, and support data warehousing and BI solutions
Create ETLs; joining and cleaning data
Create dashboards and KPIs to visualize business performance to management
Design and maintain data models used for reporting and analytics
Help the broader team identify new features and business opportunities through your analysis
Build various data visualizations to tell the story of trends, patterns, and outliers
Monitor and tune BI tools to ensure optimum level of performance
Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools
Support upgrades, configuration and troubleshooting for business intelligence tools
Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation
Execute ad-hoc business deep dive analysis and present findings to stakeholders
Modify existing reports, extracts and dashboards as necessary
Collect, analyze, and share data to help stakeholders make strategic product decisions
Identify process improvements and streamline operations
Own the design and development of automated solutions for recurring reporting and in-depth analysis
Job Specification
1-2+ years of professional data engineering experience.
Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems
Extensive SQL experience
Hands experience on working with AWS and data lakes; ideally with experience working with RedShift, EC2, S3 and SageMaker
Hands on Experience integrating data sources into a data lake
Experience working with an ETL tool such as Talend
Working knowledge of python
Experience working with Tableau or similar data visualization tool
Experience working with a wide range of data sources and connectors
Experience executing and presenting analysis and creating visualization narratives
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications
Team-oriented, strong communicator, self-motivated, success-driven, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, experience, or strong interest in working using agile methodologies
Ability to translate business questions into problems solvable using analytics tools, and enjoy converting the results of analyses into visual narratives tailored to the needs of the audience

Comfortable working under pressure to deadlines while keeping a cool head and still working collaboratively
Strong working proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
