GDIT is seeking a well-versed, hands-on Software Engineering Leader to join our Federal program team to collaborate and work closely with our Federal customer stakeholders and leadership to understand, document, enhance, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the business processes and supporting Unified Case Management (UCM) low code applications (e.g. Appian, Pega, etc.). You will be the responsible for cultivating and managing the trusted partner relationship with the customer team, learning and improving the customer business processes, and providing technical leadership and hands-on expertise to plan projects and lead the technical agile team designing, implementing, and maintaining the applications. You will collaborate with other technical leads and agile teams on the program to integrate the UCM COTS applications with the broader Java system and Oracle database. The position will require an individual that thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, collaborative environment, and requires strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills.
Responsibilities:
Work with non-technical leadership and business users to solve open-ended business problems using techniques they understand
Be the single point of contact (SPOC) for the customer on this development effort
Design, develop, and deploy modern technology solution (e.g. Appian, Pega)
Apply modern application development techniques
Lead an integrated team (people manager) of employees and subcontractors
Work with program and technical staff in all aspects of daily work
Fully engaged in the implementation of a DevOps practices for supporting IT
Support information assurance process in a technical role by complying with technical controls, technical checklists etc.
Provide leadership, guidance, and feedback during requirement sessions
Lead the team through the scrum process, run daily stand-up meetings, tailor and document team processes, curate backlog of stories
Facilitate inter-team cooperation by working effectively with other parts of the Federal program to ensure proper support for the UCM effort
Provide overall direction for business and technical leads to ensure that primary goals of the contract are met on-time
Review completed work units, ensuring that unit tests are complete and that we are meeting the traceability goals of the CMMI for Development Maturity Level 3 process
WHAT YOULL NEED (required):
Bachelors Degree
10+ years of related IT experience
3+ years in an IT technical leader role of ~5 staff or more
Expertise working with Atlassian suite of tools like Jira and Confluence
Experience working with non-technical business users to solve open-ended business problems using data
Experience gathering requirements and eliciting the information needed to understand the actual outcome wanting to be achieved
Superior customer service skills working proactively and collaboratively with the UCM stakeholders, other Federal customers and across other GDIT program teams.
Superior writing and communication skills. Must write and speak succinctly and clearly and explain complex technical details in plain English to technical and non-technical audiences
Excellent multi-tasking and organization skills. Must manage multiple simultaneous tasks and prioritize assignments and tasks accordingly, remaining flexible to changing priorities and new initiatives
Experience using agile methodologies to prioritize and perform tasks
SQL skills
Java Skills
Proficient with MS Office Suite
WHAT WOULD BE EVEN BETTER (Preferred):
Masters Degree
15+ years of related IT experience
Experience with low code platform (e.g. Appian, Pega, etc.)
Experience in the healthcare industry
Experience working for the Federal Government or Contractor
Proficiency with MS Project and MS Visio or other comparable tools
An understanding of 508 and how it impacts development efforts
