We are seeking a Project Manager - Process Controls based in Norcross, GA and servicing the entire Georgia and South Carolina markets.


Overall responsibility for successfully executing assigned projects utilizing MR Systems Best Practices and Project Methodology. This includes providing direction for and scheduling of project processes, supervision of project team and nurturing of Contractor/Engineer/Owner relationships, all while meeting or exceeding the project budget and schedule. Mentors junior Project Managers and Project Engineers.


  • Thoroughly reviews and fully comprehends the requirements of a project per the contract documentation, MR Systems Sales Scope Letter and other supporting documents.

  • Evaluates all project budgetary categories and develops a plan to meet or beat these budgetary limits.

  • Develops a project schedule in conjunction with the Contractor/Owners schedule. Regularly reviews and revises the schedule as required.

  • Meets with the Regional and Applications Managers to select a project team of Project Engineers, Applications Engineers and Field Service.

  • Coordinates and directs Project Engineering resources on the development of Field Instrumentation Submittals, panel design and Panel Hardware Submittals.

  • Coordinates and directs Production resources on the manufacturing, testing and shipping of project control panels.

  • Meets regularly with the project team to coordinate and direct the HMI application software, graphic displays, PLC application software requirements, development, schedules and implementation.

  • Executes projects according to MR Systems Best Practices and Project Methodology.

  • Meets regularly with Regional and Project Managers to establish the scheduling of each project and ensure company labor resources are efficiently utilized.

  • Coordinates all project startup activities with the Contractor and project team, which includes scheduling, troubleshooting, and meeting commitments.

  • Evaluates project issues and find solutions that are acceptable to all and are also in the best interests of MR Systems.

  • Establishes the Customer billing schedule for each project, executes the billing process monthly, and verifies timely payment.

  • Completes all required regular project reporting including Regional Manager updates, Work-in-Progress updates, revenue and resource labor forecasting.

  • Verifies all project completion requirements, including testing, demonstration, punch lists, billing, and documentation have been completed according to the contract and MR Systems Best Practices.

  • Must be able to perform the above items for multiple projects simultaneously ranging in size from $10,000 to $5,000,000 (typical load of up to 20 projects or $10,000,000 total backlog).

  • Mentors junior Project Managers and Project Engineers in project execution utilizing MR Systems Best Practices and Project Methodology.

  • Supports all Customers throughout the warranty period.

  • Systematically contacts all Customers on a regular basis to offer ongoing support and discuss any current or upcoming opportunities.


Direct report to Regional Manager.

Periodic interaction with Sales for project kick-off meetings and budgetary issues.

Daily interaction with Regional Manager, Project Managers, Project Engineering, Applications Engineering, Production and Field Service to orchestrate the successful execution of projects.



  • A bachelors degree (BS, B.) in an Engineering field or Computer Science.

  • Five (5) years of experience as a titled Project Manager executing controls-related technical/engineering projects. Water/wastewater experience is not required but a plus.

  • Solid engineering and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication with technically-oriented personnel.

  • Experience interpreting consultant-generated contract documents.

  • Working familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access and Project.

  • Ability to interpret and utilize financial reports and legal documents such as contracts.

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously ranging in size from $10,000 to $5,000,000 (typical load of up to 20 projects or $10,000,000 total backlog).


Ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers is required. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is important for conversations, to receive ordinary information and to read and understand specifications and drawings.

Heavy lifting is not expected. Good manual dexterity is necessary for the use of common office equipment such as computers, and copiers.


The job is performed both indoors (primarily) and outdoors in a variety of settings including MRs office (primarily), Engineer and Owner offices, equipment supplier facilities, and project jobsites. Protective safety equipment may be required including appropriate clothing, shoes, gloves, hardhat, and goggles as needed.


Travel to the job sites as well as Engineer and Owner offices is required as part of project management. Expected travel 5 15 percent depending on individual project requirements. IND789
