Role and Responsibilities

  • The Sr. Manager of Sales is responsible for the sales management and strategy of the Mobile Enhancements (ME) & New Computing (NC).

  • This role will be responsible for the sell-in and sell out support of ME/NC in all relevant channels.

  • This role will work hand in hand with SEA category management providing the market insight for the adequate development of devices that can be successful in the U.S. Market.

  • Manages within a nominated sub-function or related sub-functions; typically a highly experienced manager.

  • Typically accountable for budget and policy recommendations and medium- to longer-term planning.

Background/Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in business with 12+ years of directly related experience is required.

  • Prior management experience required.

Skills and Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Attributes:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies, plans and programs to ensure SEA ME/NC Sales targets are achieved.

  • Responsible for TP planning and budgeting.

  • Must have experience with P&L management.

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all assigned levels within and outside the company.

  • The ability to influence others, in a potentially adversarial and highly price competitive environment, including customer leadership, VPs, directors & managers, staff, and customers with opposing views to accept/approve plans, marketing, and project recommendations. Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple complex assignments and projects.

  • Must possess strong sales acumen and a compelling customer presence, be able to communicate extremely clearly and effectively even in ambiguous circumstances, and ultimately be able to establish and enhance strong relationships with key customer contacts in order to successfully position Samsung's portfolio and drive sales.

  • Demonstrate competency in both oral and written communication modes for both internal and external personnel at various levels, especially in the sales and marketing, logistical, or finance.

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment

  • Work is generally performed in an office environment

  • Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal 50% of work time, including prolonged periods of time

  • The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time under 25 pounds

  • Performs work under time schedules and stresses which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive job stress, fatigue, unpaid over-time, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and business management stress

  • Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids representative and commonly associated with PCs, printers, and office work areas

  • Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule

  • Under very little direct supervision with a high level of responsibility to apply general policies and guidelines where decisions are seldom monitored and consequences of decisions adversely affect operating results and management decisions.
