Operates as the lead or functional area Project Manager (PM) on designated strategic projects and provides consultation, advice, and oversight to projects managed by others. As lead PM is responsible for the end-to-end planning, monitoring, execution, and closeout of projects, including coordination with all involved departments and stakeholders, and development of budgets, project plans and milestones, resource planning, communication planning, and change management. Coordinates or oversees the execution of a variety of projects, both system implementations and non-IT projects and initiatives simultaneously.
You will be responsible for creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance. Apply a structured change management methodology/process and tools, and lead change management activities to support the adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.
Advances the development and impact of change management best practices across the firm. Participates in the development of processes and templates, promotes the adoption of best practices and standards to support the development of a continuous improvement culture.
Works closely with senior firm and department leadership to develop strategic approaches and implementation plans for proposed initiatives and for large/complex approved projects. Supports senior leaders/managers with the development of business cases for proposed solutions.

This position is remote. However, candidates may be required on occasion to visit the local office when/if needed. Candidates must reside in a state where there is a DLA Piper office.
7 years of project management experience including 2 years of consulting, designing, implementing, and leading enterprise-wide systems implementations (e.g. HR, Financial systems, Knowledge Management systems, etc.) and other major high profile and complex projects
Excellent board-ready communication skills, including oral and formal written and PowerPoint presentations
Ability to effectively analyze and resolve ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations
Proven expertise in planning and managing large system implementations and complex non-IT projects
Proven expertise in organizational and process change management
Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to create innovative solutions
Formal training in project management as part of degree program or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Formal training in change management as part of a degree program or PROSCI certification
What will your day look like?
As a Sr Manager Change Management/PM, you will manage complex, integrated projects. You will be responsible for the timely and effective execution of identified projects, and management of associated budgets. You will lead cross-functional and matrixed project teams, which may include shared or dedicated resources, and manage vendor efforts and relationships. You will also work to understand project and stakeholder needs to develop thoughtful and innovative solutions.
Additional responsibilities will be to assist with identifying relevant metrics, success criteria, and risks and mitigations at the program and project level. You will conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness and identify key stakeholders. You will also support the design, development, delivery, and management of project communications plans. You will participate in the development of project management and change management processes and templates, promote best practices in project/change management and standards for firmwide adoption.
Additionally, you will provide communication and training across the firm for project and change management processes, tools, and best practices. You will act as an internal consultant to project managers or project leads from other departments for projects under their control. You will collaborate closely with the firms administrative managers to understand current processes, effectiveness, and areas for process, staffing, or technology improvements. You will also prepare agendas, presentation materials, executive summaries, and progress reports for senior leadership.
